About the Author
John Sall is a co-founder of SAS Institute Inc., where he currently serves as the Executive Vice President and the head of the JMP Business Division. He received a bachelor's degree from Beloit College and a master's degree from Northern Illinois University. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from North Carolina State University in 2003. John has held several positions in the Statistical Computing Section of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and was named an ASA Fellow in 1998.
Ann Lehman, Ph.D., joined SAS Institute in 1979 and is a senior statistical writer, working with JMP since its inception in 1988. A co-author of JMP for Basic Univariate and Multivariate Statistics: A Step-by-Step Guide and many other JMP user's manuals, Ann has a diverse background that includes editing and coauthoring SAS user's guides, writing and teaching SAS courses, and serving as technical editor of the JMPer Cable, JMP's technical newsletter.
Mia Stephens is an Academic Ambassador with JMP, a division of SAS. Prior to joining SAS, she split her time between industrial consulting and teaching statistics at the University of New Hampshire. In her industrial work, she has engaged in training, consulting, and curriculum development. She has fifteen years of experience in the application of statistical methods, project management, organizational development, organizational dynamics, and team process. Her expertise includes Lean Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma program deployment, training, and support. She has worked with a variety of industries and with the federal government, in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing environments. Stephens holds an M.S. in Applied Statistics. She is currently located in York Harbor, Maine.
Lee Creighton received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from North Carolina State University. He is currently interested in methods of teaching statistics, user interface design, and issues in localization. Lee taught high school and college mathematics in North Carolina. He is the coauthor of several books on statistical methods, including Introduction to Design of Experiments with JMP Examples, Third Edition, and Regression Using JMP. Lee contributed to the revision of JMP Start Statistics while on staff at SAS.

JMP 10

This is the newest, JMP Version 10, textbook format that accompanies this powerful discovery statistics & graphics software. I recently graduated from my MBA program at GWU in 2009 and utilized this software-text combination, albeit an earlier version, but still wanted to reinforce what I earlier had learned, which is, itself, a great testimonial to its utility. The textbook exposition is clear with examples (samples) of data files or tables that can be, and are, dynamically linked to outputs, be they statistical data or graphics. This latest version is improved with more examples (samples), better explanations, and more content. Readability is graded as high, and one can follow the textbook examples (samples) which can be in parallel opened in the JMP 10 software to consolidate Statistics learning. As a complement, JMP provides video tutorials on their own JMP web page [...], and other reasources. Bottom line, I would recommend without qualification.

Kindle version is not reliable

Kindle version is not reliable at all. Some exercises are missing including the questions related to the exercises. I had to call my classmate to have many assignment done. Also, some pages were missing as well. In addition, i wanted to return it but did not have an option to return the material. my money was not worth the kindle version I wish I could return it and get my money back. Many of my classmates using the kindle version encountered the same problem
I will not recommend the kindle version. Get the original book.

Having notes and examples on a variety of organized subjects is very helpful. Sometimes having a good old fashioned book to go back and forth to different sections is still the best way to go.
