It really helped me through a pretty depressing period of my life journey

I was given this publication by a friend. At that time it consisted of a set of 12 tapes in a cassette format. I was somewhat disappointed in the CD version because much of the information was deleted. It really helped me through a pretty depressing period of my life journey. Over the years I've shared the tapes with other individuals. Some also found the information mutually beneficial. Thanks....

I bought this tape when it was first published. And at that time, while I was in the process of "searching", I did not fully understand the concept(s) that Deepak Chopra was explaining. However, since then I have read and listened to other books / CDs by Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Caroline Mysse etc. This morning on the way to work, I listened with new "ears" to this tape and find it to be a good supplement/reinforcement to "Creating Affluence", "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", "The Way of the Wizard", "Manifest Your Destiny", "The Power of Intention" and "Ask And You Shall Receive".

I am ordering the CD and will record it on my ipod so that I can listen to it whenever and wherever I am.

"As Is" is a makeover for your mind.

I was never an athlete, never an exerciser, never a mindful eater, until I followed the principles outlined in this book. I used to think that all of these things were meant to bring me a perfect body and there was no reason to do them if they didn't result in the body look I thought I should have. "As Is" changes that mindset and helps you to love your body. Completely. Right now. As is. When I started to love my body and decided to make changes like eating mindfully, starting to exercise more, and then starting to run (something I had never done before in my life) so that I could FEEL better, a nice side effect was my body did get into shape and I became healthier. But by the end, that wasn't the main point. "As Is" is like the makeover for your mind, bringing you to a place of happiness and peace. I didn't realize I needed that more than I needed the physical health.

Please share this with all of the women in your life. Giving the gift of love for yourself is the best gift you could ever give them. And it shows them that you love them - "as is."

If you're a woman or know a woman, you want to buy this book

If you're a woman you want to buy this book. If you aren't a woman, but know one, you should buy this book for them. I don't usually gush about products (I'm an engineer - it's against my nature), but I am happy to do so about this book. The unfortunate reality is that most women suffer from some level of self-esteem issues. Yes, even the ones who seem to be really confident. In fact maybe using "most" in that sentence is optimistic. This book is so great at helping to look at and even address that self-perception. I honestly can't imagine anyone not being happier for having read this book.

Good content, but very poor online implementation

I used an older version of this for initial board certification (and liked it) but won't be using it much for recertification. My study method has changed since then - I study at my computer now. Many textbooks are providing online resources - some good, some bad. This one's online interface is not good. By comparison, the ACCSAP allows the user to save and edit a PDF version of the book. This means you can highlight and take notes in the text. With the Mayo book that is impossible, as you are only allowed to download a PDF version of a single chapter.

ACCSAP is more expensive, of course, but for me the ability to use my computer is pretty important, and worth the extra cost in this case.

Great material easy read, good team with the Mayo Clinic Videos

I was reading the ACCSAP8 but decided to give this a try. The third edition is completely outdated but this version is spot on with current guidelines. Maybe there is some information with too much detail, then you just ignore it.

I am happy with the book but wish this came in PDF version. IT IS A PAIN TO CARRY THIS MONSTER AROUND! I am even thinking of ripping the book into 5 different sections because of how uncomfortable it is to read.

Best Exercise Book for Players Rated 2000+

I got this book about 6 months ago. I bought it for two reasons. First, it's a Russian Chess School exercise book, which is usually a gurantee for its content quality. Second, although I had noticed this exercise book is written for player rated above 2000+, I still decided to buy it because I believed the gap between Class A and Expert is not that huge, and if it works best for players ELO 2000+, it should also help an ambitious Class A player.

Soon after I began to work on this book, I realized how long and how difficult are the problems in it and I can say figuring out every single problem in this combination book had benifited me 50 times as much as I figuring out a problem from most of the other normal tactics book. After spending hundreds of hours working in this book and cracking nearly 500 problems in it (a total of 750 problems are included in the book), my USCF rating had jumped from low 1800+ to now a little over 2000. I am not saying this is the only exercise book I've been worked on, but it is definitely the only chess book which pushed my calculation skill to a whole new level. As I going over some of my recent games with my NM friend, he pointed out for me that my main strength he can tell from my games is the ability to calculate long variation accurately and clearly recognize my opponent's threat. Throughout my own experience and the tournament games I played against Class A players and experts, I can say two of the main factors which often seperate Class A and Expert are indeed the ability to accurately calcualte long variations and capability to recognize opponent's threat.

I would recommend this combination book to player rated above 2000 and hardwoking Class A players who desire to make an expert. For players rated below 1800, I think Manual of Chess Combinations Volumn 1 and 2, and other books such as John Nunn's puzzle book and Polgar's exercise books are much more appropriate choices. Because most of the problems in this Russian Chess School exercise book require the reader to calculate at least 10 moves, it is clear that only for a player who has built up solid tactics skill and acute tactics vision, he might have the technique to figure out the the long variations and really benifited from working in these tough combinations.

Last but not the least, I want to give a subtle but significant suggestion to those who are getting ready to start to work on this book and those who are working on it: you can either simply look at the problem diagrams in the book or set up your chess pieces to think about the problem, but keep in mind only going over different long variations in your head and don't move the pieces to check them out, because only through this way you can maximize the benifit you gain from working on long variations. After all, the main target for working on a combination book is to improve our own tactics/calculation skill as much as possible, but not just finish the problems themselves as a task.

A good choice to improve your tactical ability

There are a lot of tactics books out there. This is one of the best, IF you want to get significantly better at tactics, AND will put in the effort. What makes this book so good? The puzzles are arranged so that they are increasingly difficult as you progress throught the book, and there are no hints or clues as to the specific tactic that leads to a win in each position. This is the best way to train. After all, in a game, a sign doesn't pop up saying "Pin it to win it" or "Back rank weak!" Anyone who works through this book, from cover to cover, will gain the same benefits as an athlete who engages in a couple of months of serious strength training. By the end of the book, you should routinely see positions in your own games where a sixth sense seems to alert you to the presence of a tactic. Your competitors will wonder how you do it.

Chapter II by providing an overview of different stage of dentition dental development, from tooth formation to permanent occlusion, provides an overview of dental development, from tooth formation to permanent occlusion. The author emphasizes the developmental stages that must be recognized during patient examination to facilitate differential diagnosis.
Chapter III is very important from clinical and paraclinical perspective, that describes elements of thorough diagnostic database and incorporates interview with the patient, Extra/Intra-oral examination, and study cast evaluation. Many clinical and radiographic figures help better understanding of early detection of incipient malocclusion.
Part 2 consists of seven chapters allocated to the ontogeny, diagnosis, early detection, as well as the proper intervention for, non-skeletal problems. Thanks to the author for years of hard work that is shared systematically in this easy to read book. I am still reading it (about half way through) but find his insight helpful daily in private practice. Very applicable to clinical orthodontics, particularly for an orthodontist like myself that works in a pediatric setting seeing children very early in their dental development. I am looking forward to reading the rest. Highly recommend it.

About the Author
James Cecy was born in Toronto Canada & moved to California when he was 11 years old. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1969 & served on the aircraft carrier, the USS Kitty Hawk, during the Vietnam War. On November 17, 1971, the day he was discharged from active naval duty, God stirred his heart & Jim trusted in Christ alone for his salvation. He quickly became an avid student of the Bible. Pastor Jim earned his Master of Divinity degree in Bible Exposition from Talbot Theological Seminary in 1978. In 1992 Jim received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Western Seminary. His doctoral studies on why Christian leaders fall morally became the basis for a series of seminars. That research, plus years of counseling & teaching globally on this subject, forms the basis for a number of helpful materials, including his book, The Purity War: A Biblical Guide to Living in an Immoral World. Jim was called to ministry in 1975, serving churches in California for almost 40 years. He has served as the Senior Pastor-Teacher at Campus Bible Church of Fresno since 1995. Next to their relationship to Jesus Christ, the single-most important part of Jim & Karon's life is their family. They were married in 1973 & are still best friends. They raised 3 daughters & have cared for 23 foster-children. They now have 9 grandchildren & 3 foster-grandchildren.

It is a great combination of biblical insight and understanding on one hand

This book is first and foremost biblical. It describes the reality of our fallen world and various steps that usually lead us into the trap of immorality. But at the same time it presents practical steps that we need to take in order to win this Purity War. It is a great combination of biblical insight and understanding on one hand, and practical steps in creating our daily battle plan on the other. This book also reflects both God's standards for our holiness, yet also His mercy toward sinful humanity. I recommend this book to everybody, since we all struggle in this area of purity, whether we admit it or not.

Purity War!

My father requested this book as a gift and I'm about to buy it in amazon. luckily I just found it in a nearby shop and buy there instead.He really enjoyed reading the book and I noticed some changes unto him (good one) my mother also notices it and believe that the book really help him a lot. After he was done reading the book I tried to read it also and found some really informative biblical advises (about oneness,etc). My boyfriend also read the book and he was amazed.

quite complete when it comes to anesthesia, however, it sometimes contradicts itself from chapter to chapter (sometimes even in the same chapter!). not really good to read. dry topics, such as the anesthesia machine are way better presented in other texts. other chapters are good though

As a new SRNA, we have John's book, little miller, barash, m and m. So far I live this book for its direct and clear message on each topic. It is not nearly as wordy as some of the others. The other books listed above try to write in a language that is very flashy instead of delivering the information in a way that you can retain. I have about read this book cover to cover and it is impressive. It is a must have for new SRNA students!

I read Dr Gott's newspaper column all the time. The book is written in a similar manner. The advice is told in laymans terms and as a result is practical and easy to understand.

Great information!

My grandmother is 89 years old, healthy as a horse and twice as independent, and swears by any info given out by Dr. Gott. This book presents his advice in the same format as his column; letters from people with Dr. Gott's advice. Great presentation and great info. And if it's good enough for Grandma, its bound to help the rest of us youngsters.
